Job Description

Description:

Precision Security Team is a veteran-owned and operated company proudly serving northern Colorado and surrounding areas. Since our establishment in 2018, we have experienced remarkable growth, earning the trust of local government agencies, schools, critical infrastructure sites, event organizers, and more. Based in the region stretching from Denver, CO, to Cheyenne, WY, we are committed to excellence in security services.

We take pride in hiring veterans, former law enforcement personnel, and first responders and strongly encourage individuals with such backgrounds to apply. However, we are equally committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Precision Security Team is an equal-opportunity employer, and all candidates are evaluated based on their qualifications, without discrimination or bias.

As an Unarmed Security Officer at Precision Security Team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the public at your assigned location. Your responsibilities will include addressing security concerns and handling requests as needed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients and the community.

Every Security Officer at Precision Security Team is entrusted with delivering an exceptional experience for our clients while safeguarding their interests. It is essential to uphold the company’s professional image at all times—whether interacting with clients, the public, or law enforcement.

As a member of our team, you are expected to embody and demonstrate Precision Security Team’s core values and code of conduct in all aspects of your work.

We are actively seeking to fill this position as soon as possible; however, our priority is finding the right candidate—not just the first available one. We are committed to hiring individuals who align with our standards, values, and expectations, and who are prepared to take on the responsibilities of this role with professionalism and dedication.

The start date for this position is October 5, 2025. We are looking for someone to work 11:00 pm-7:00 am Monday through Friday for a total of 40 hours per week. Please do not apply if this does not work with your availability.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working overnight hours and able to maintain this schedule for the full duration of the assignment. Since this role is strictly overnight, it is not well-suited for individuals who may find it difficult to adjust to nighttime work or anticipate needing to transition to daytime shifts.

This position is expected to last approximately four months. At the conclusion of the assignment, there may be an opportunity to transition internally into another full-time role, dependent on availability. While placement cannot be guaranteed, we will do our due diligence as a company to help ensure a suitable position is secured.

We highly encourage applications from military veterans and former law enforcement professionals, recognizing the valuable skills and discipline they bring to our team.

Critical Roles of the Position:

Access Control: Only authorized individuals enter the property by verifying identification, monitoring entry points, and enforcing security protocols.

Alarm Monitoring: Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, investigating alerts to determine cause and initiating the proper course of action.

Monitoring Video Feeds: Continuously observe surveillance cameras to detect suspicious activity, identify potential threats, and provide timely reports.

Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear, professional communication with team members, management, and the public to ensure accurate information sharing and smooth operations.

De-escalation Skills: Use calm, respectful, and strategic techniques to defuse tense situations, reduce conflict, and maintain a safe environment for all.

Precision Security Team or the client can assign other duties to you as necessary at any time.

Company Core Values:

  • Integrity: In all we do, at every level.
  • Commitment: To our team, our clients, our community.
  • Development: Professionally, personally, collectively; always improving.

Key Competencies:

  • positive attitude
  • time management
  • good judgement
  • situational awareness
  • professional demeanor
  • de-escalation and conflict management skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • confidence working solitary and with a team
  • proficiency with smart phones and online scheduling software
  • physical ability to perform work related tasks
  • ability to use proper English and grammar when filling out reports and other required paperwork

Pay: This W2 position pays $21.00/hour. Employees who work 30 or more hours a week are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance. Colorado offers additional benefits to all employees, including paid sick leave, the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program, which provides paid leave, and a secure savings option through a Roth IRA program.

What to Expect in Our Hiring Process: Our hiring process begins with a careful review of applications to identify candidates who align with our company's needs and values. If your application stands out, you will be contacted for an initial phone screening. Successful candidates will then be invited to an in-person interview with the hiring manager and key members of our leadership team.

Important Notes About the Application and Interview Process:

  • Screener questions are a critical part of the evaluation process. Responses will be scored based on completeness, clarity, proper grammar, and written communication.
  • Do not write “see resume,” “N/A,” or “can be discussed during the interview.” Incomplete or vague responses will result in automatic disqualification.
  • We are looking for thoughtful, well-written answers that provide specific examples and demonstrate your qualifications and critical thinking.

Use the S.T.A.R. Technique: During the interview, we encourage you to use the S.T.A.R. method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to answer behavioral questions. This approach helps you organize your thoughts and communicate your experience in a structured, impactful way—giving us the best view of your skills and how you’ve applied them in real-world situations.

Professional Appearance: First impressions matter. For in-person interviews, please arrive on time, well-groomed, and dressed in clean, professional attire. A polished appearance shows respect for the opportunity and our team.

Should you advance past the interview stage, a conditional job offer may be extended. Upon acceptance, we will initiate a background check and begin the online onboarding process.

A Note About Communication: We will carefully review your application and contact you if we believe you are a strong match for the position. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we kindly ask that you do not call to inquire about your application status .

Please note: Failure to follow this instruction may result in disqualification , as it reflects an inability to follow directions—something we consider an important part of the role.

If you do not hear from us, please do not be discouraged or take it personally. We are committed to giving each application thoughtful consideration and selecting candidates who align best with the role’s specific needs.

Should you advance past the interview stage, a conditional job offer may be extended. Upon acceptance, we will initiate a background check and begin the online onboarding process.

To ensure full consideration, applications must be submitted by September 8, 2025.

PST adheres to a hands-off approach whenever possible, prioritizing verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques. The only instance where physical intervention is appropriate is if an individual poses an immediate physical threat to themselves, others, or you. Acceptable physical intervention techniques will be taught during our mandatory Phase I training.
